Description
- The CD features 23 recordings from the period during which No To Co departed from the beat and folk music in favour of heavy rock and progressive rock. The album is split in two parts – studio and live.
The studio part is full of a heavy guitar sound and, pleasing to the rock-loving ear, vibrant Hammond organ parts.
It contains excellently recorded songs from the Russian LP (including 7-minute Hana na betonie), the COMPLETE session for the German radio in 1973 (a fabulous version of Zielony mosteczek) and four radio recordings from 1975 – featuring I nic więcej nie chcę już, inspired by American rock and the hit Po zielonej trawie piłka goni.
The melody patterns typical of previous No To Co’s recordings can be found in the live part of the album – never published, fully preserved recordings from the music festivals in 1974-1976.
The live recordings include new, slightly more rock-oriented versions of the band’s greatest hits (Te opolskie dziouchy and Po ten kwiat czerwony – thanks to the Hammond organ much in the vibe of Procol Harum) as well as songs without studio versions – the ear-catching Ej piosenko piękna pani and Kasieńka and the Latin American Modlitwa wieczorna.
Most of the material released for the first time.
