Tadeusz Woźniak, called the ‘Polish Bob Dylan’, is – along with Marek Grechuta – the greatest Polish performer of music at the intersection of folk, rock, and sung poetry. When his first period of activity, marked by cooperation with the beat band Dzikusy, was over, he started performing ballads in flower power-style, progressing towards a progressive music variety influenced by stage music (exemplified by Odcień ciszy suite). In the second half of the 70’s he took up theatre music.

The sixth of a new series in the making, collecting Tadeusz Woźniak’s archive recordings (radio, TV, live, theatre and private).

Description

The 2CD features 38 recordings composed by Tadeusz Woźniak for a theatre play for children (including Lato Muminków (Moominsummer Madness), Kubuś Puchatek (Winnie The Pooh), Trzej muszkieterowie (The Three Musketeers) as well as numerous songs referring to the topic of children.

The album contains not only the unpublished songs sung by the Master himself (including wonderful Chrupacz, Powietrze and Billy), but also performances by the great representatives of the Polish theatre and music scene: Zbigniew Wodecki, Krzysztof Majchrzak, Andrzej i Eliza, Jolanta Majchrzak, Anna Chodakowska, Bernard Ładysz, Elżbieta Adamiak, Piotr Woźniak…

We recommend the album to both children and their parents given its musical and literary value.

Fans of theatre music will surely be interested in the 4-minute instrumental song Walz from the play Kopciuszek (Cinderella).
